Prent Puerto Rico recently embarked on a site expansion project to streamline production operations and material handling at its Puerto Rico manufacturing plant. The expansion project includes growing storage capacity by 200%. As it exists today, the current facility has plenty of production capacity, however, the storage capacity has proven to be limited. The warehouse will aid in current growth projections allowing Prent to continue delivering a service that exceeds customer expectations and supply chain reliability.
“The commencement of the construction project marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for Prent Puerto Rico. The additional space will allow us to continue developing on-hand inventory agreements to ensure we can adjust to customer variations in demand,” said Victor Nazario, Prent Puerto Rico Plant Manager.
The extension of the Prent Puerto Rico campus will also allow a key supplier, GOEX Corporation, to leverage the space for just-in-time inventory and localize distribution in this growing market. Prent’s flexible and committed workforce coupled with an automated and efficient inventory management sysem can quickly respond to inventory levels, avoiding stockouts and minimizing costs to customers.
The expansion project is expected to be completed before the end of the year.
