The 2026 Prent Holiday Ornament demonstrates how sustainable materials, precision engineering, and thoughtful design can come together in a simple yet elegant holiday keepsake. Inspired by the timeless symbolism of a holiday wreath and ribbon, this year's ornament reflects Prent's commitment to innovation while showcasing the possibilities of advanced thermoforming technology, from intricate sidewall engravings to a creative negative-space logo integrated into the ornament's bulb design.
At the heart of the design is a festive wreath thermoformed from GOEX’s clear MEDPET®90, a medical-grade polyester (PET) that is engineered to provide a reliable, recyclable and economical option for medical packaging. Encircling the wreath is an elegant gold ribbon produced from CP305 Recover with glidex, a recycled PET material that embodies GOEX’s dedication to sustainability and material innovation. By transforming recycled content into a decorative keepsake designed to be enjoyed year after year, the ornament highlights how sustainable materials can deliver both environmental benefits and exceptional aesthetics.
This year's ornament also celebrates a significant advancement at Prent's Innovation Center. The intricate sidewall engravings featured throughout the wreath, including detailed pine boughs, holly berries, and the 2026 year mark, were made possible through the addition of new 5-axis milling capabilities. Traditionally, creating highly detailed engravings on curved and multi-dimensional surfaces presented significant challenges. The new technology allows Prent's tooling team to machine complex contours with unprecedented precision, bringing depth, texture, and realism to areas that were previously difficult or impossible to decorate. The ornament's bulb further showcases this creativity through the use of negative space to subtly reveal the Prent logo, transforming a simple branding element into an artistic design feature. Together, these details demonstrate how advanced manufacturing, innovative tooling, and thoughtful design can work in harmony to create a keepsake that is both visually elegant and technically impressive.
