IN-LINE PRESSUREFORMING PROCESSPrent uses quality thermoplastic sheet to meet strict customer specifications. This material cycles into the oven where it is heated to forming temperature; plug assists and female form cavities combine with heat and pressure to make precision parts. The sheet is chilled into a rigid structure, which prepares it for die-cutting or match-metal punch separation into individual thermoforms. Inspectors check the thermoforms for proper configuration, trim tolerance, function and appearance before packing. Parts are nested in bag lined shipping cartons to minimize space needed for shipment and warehousing before use. Cartons are labeled for traceability and bar-coding is an optional feature. The Prent in-line pressureforming process uses a sealed vessel to control both positive air pressure and vacuum. The heart of the process is a custom-designed plug assist, which is utilized to move material from the forming plane, and distribute it evenly throughout the cavity. Cavity and tooling designs are computer generated to give a high degree of accuracy, economy, precision, and reproducibility. All components are designed and engineered for maximum material flow. |
