SUBJECT: HURRICANE MARIA UPDATE
Dear Valued Customer,
While the conditions in Yauco remain quite bad after Hurricane Maria, I am pleased to announce that all Prent employees are safe and accounted for. Recovery continues to move forward. Limited cell service and Wi-Fi has been restored; however, the electrical service is not expected to be reestablished in the foreseeable future.
Yauco endured sustained winds of 125 mph, with gusts over 160 mph. The property damage is extreme, with many houses and buildings completely destroyed. Prent Corporation’s main facility that houses production, offices, and tool storage sustained no damage. Our finished goods warehouse had only minimal roof damage.
I am pleased to announce that effective today, Prent Puerto Rico is fully operational! Prent Puerto Rico will be producing parts to fulfill current open purchase orders. Logistics to supply some customer facilities remains a challenge; therefore, we are asking that you reach out to Prent Puerto Rico, as well as copy your U.S. based sales representative, to confirm delivery dates.
We will continue to send updates as progress is made in Puerto Rico.
Our prayers continue to go out to all the people in the Caribbean during the aftermath of this crisis.
